About the event
This presentation will review the details of the unsolved murder of a Marblehead school teacher nearly 75 years ago. November 25, 1950 was a stormy night. Around 6:30 p.m, as Beryl Atherton was preparing her dog’s supper, she suddenly was brutally choked and her body was severely slashed with a knife horrifying the town of Marblehead. The speakers will present details of the murder, why the case is still unsolved, and their theories of who the murderer may have been. Participants will be encouraged to offer their own theories. A question-answer period will follow the presentation.
